Things patients often ask us
Does scaling thin my teeth or make them shaky?
No. Scaling removes hardened plaque sitting on the tooth surface. Teeth can feel different for a day or two because the buildup is gone, but the tooth itself is untouched. Leaving the buildup is what loosens teeth over time.
Do crooked teeth always need extraction before braces?
Not always. It depends on how much room your jaw has. Some cases can be treated without removing any teeth, which is exactly what we assess before recommending a plan.
My tooth stopped hurting after the abscess was drained. Is it settled?
Draining relieves pain but does not fix the cause. If the crack or infection underneath is not treated, the problem usually returns worse months later. Worth a proper check before it does.
You both look quite young. How do I know I am in good hands?
